Vassilis Solidakis

Vassilis Solidakis was born in Crete. He began studying painting in 1968 and in 1973 he studied near D. Perdikidis in Madrid. He had his first solo exhibition in 1978 in Athens. More solo and group shows followed in Greece and abroad.
Solidakis’ art could be defined as figurative expressionism. He is an epic artist with a developed sensitivity. He faces painting not only as a field of research, but also as a field of recording and development of life and its various vantage points. His work invites the viewers to travel to the vast unknown worlds of Being and deliver their own theory.
He has shown his works in numerous solo exhibitions in Greece, where he is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts. He is also interested in caricature and scenography. Vassilis Solidakis lives and works in Athens.
