Osy Milian was born on the 25th February 1992 in Havana, Cuba. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro and the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, Cuba.
Still life and marine formed a significant part of her graphic artworks and therefore determined her artistic formation. In her latest work she is focusing on social themes that denounce the negativity and intolerance of our society. People, animals and objects form a theatrical stage where bright colors dominate.
She has presented her work both in her birthplace, Havana and internationally such as at the South Border Gallery in Beirut, Lebanon and the Broderick Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon, USA. She has also won many awards, including the “Passion for Freedom” in London, UK (2013) and the Prize acquisition of artwork in the Post-it art competition in
Havana, Cuba (2014). Her works can be found in the collections of the Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.
