Nikos Lagos was born in 1970 in Athens, Greece. He studied Architecture – Engineer at the National Technical University of Athens. He associated with many well-known architectural offices in Athens and then worked solo in architecture and building construction. In 2006 he graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts.
He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and around the world like at the Byzantine Museum in Athens, the ArtAthina Art Fair in Athens, the Benaki Museum in Athens and the Contrast Gallery in Brussels, Belgium.
The quest for identity in the context of a complicated urbanism, the memories of childhood, the adults’ fears and the artist’s strong need for freedom are all expressed in the work of Nikos Lagos with a pretentiously naïve style.
From 2008 he collaborates with Zoumboulakis’ galleries in Athens and with Tart Gallery, based in Zurich, Switzerland. His works can be found in private collections in Greece, France, Belgium, Cyprus, the UK and Germany.
